Great way in getting me interested somehow into politics!

First of all, I want to say how speechless I truly am. I also have to admit that I was left kind of hurt, yet very furious. I’m quite astonished by how people involved in politics have the courage to come out in front of cameras and state such arrogant statements. In a way it makes them seen ignorant and naive. The poor Republicans sure have had lots of low blows handed to them these past few months and their land in the white house isn’t looking too good.

I honestly always believed that civil rights meant rights that were rightfully given to all civilians in the country. Pretty self explanatory! In our Constitution itself it states how EVERYONE is granted life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Yes, this country is known to have a bad experience with blacks during the entire slave era. I also know how the U.S. had wrongfully categorized the Japanese as spies and isolated them off to camps. Last but not least, how can we forget the tragic ending to the Native Americans? I’m pretty sure no one has forgotten the Trail of Tears. It seems as if the U.S. has had a negative incident with many different “groups” of people and sadly it won’t ever stop. Unfortunately, the Latinos’ turn is coming up. We should fight for our rights and have them rightfully handed to us just like they were to the African Americans, Chinese, and Japanese. “Civil rights are meant for blacks only.” No, everyone has the right to be treated and seen equally in this diverse country. We were founded by immigrants and we shouldn’t deny them now.
